This post provides solid advice. I’d like to add a couple more: (1) Go in with a plan. Know what kinds of positions interest you, and what you’re looking for from a potential employer. Is it better pay? More responsibility? Better potential career growth? Or maybe better work-life balance or a superior benefits package? (2) Definitely bring several copies of your resume, but make sure the Objective or Summary in the resume, along with your previous job accomplishments, can cover all of the positions in which you’re interested. To make sure you get this right, look at online job postings of the jobs you’re aiming for before you decide to attend the fair. Then, update your resume before printing the copies you’ll bring. If you give a copy to a company that happens to call you in for an interview, be prepared to offer the hiring manager more details on your skills and background.
